A New Child Care Centre at Elimbah

One recent project we were pleased to be involved in was a new child care centre at 460 Pumicestone Road, Elimbah, north of Brisbane.
Elimbah is a growing area in the Moreton Bay region, and new child care facilities play an important role in supporting local families. Delivering a purpose-built centre requires a structure designed for safety, durability and compliance from the ground up.
Engineering a Purpose-Built Facility
A new child care centre needs a well-designed footing and slab system suited to the site conditions, along with structural framing that supports the building and any covered outdoor areas. GDS provided the structural engineering design for the new building, designing the footings, slab and framing to meet the loading and durability requirements of the relevant standards. Reactive soils and site conditions are always assessed carefully so the foundations perform reliably over the life of the building.
Our Role as Structural Engineers
Our involvement included reviewing the architectural and geotechnical information, designing the footings, slab and structural frame, coordinating with the project team and issuing certified structural documentation for construction. We provided engineering advice throughout to keep the design practical and cost-effective. As RPEQ-certified engineers, GDS provides the Form 15 structural certification that a new commercial building of this type requires.
This project is still underway.
