1984 – Humble beginnings
GDS founder Carl Conran initiated his career as a Structural Draftsman & Soil Technician throughout SEQ and Brisbane gaining the experience and skill that he now provides to clients in his own business today.
1998 – The birth of Geotechnical Drilling Services
GDS began providing soil testing, and contract geotechnical drilling services for domestic projects, and light commercial projects spanning from the South East to Northern Queensland & Northern NSW.
2000 to 2011 – Expansion to complete residential and commercial engineering services
GDS began providing wastewater disposal assessment for holiday resorts, geotechnical reporting, slope stability assessment and structural engineering services for domestic and light commercial projects such as architectural residences, townhouse developments, petrol stations and holiday resorts. GDS added wastewater design as a service to clients residing on islands, rural areas and subdivisions.
2012 – Commercial geotechnical engineering & structural services for Bechtel & BMA at Daunia Coal mine, North Queensland
Founder and director Carl Conran further extended GDS’s repertoire by providing Senior Geotechnical & Structural Engineer services to well established mining and conatruction companies, Bechtel & BMA.
