1984 – Humble beginnings
GDS founder Carl Conran initiated his career as a Structural Design Draftsman and Soil Tester in the Brisbane local area and around SEQ, gaining the valuable experience and skills in the domestic construction industry.
1998 – The birth of Geotechnical Drilling Services
GDS began providing soil testing, and geotechnical drilling services for domestic projects, residential, hotels, childcare centres and other larger structural projects spanning from the South East to Northern Queensland.
2000 to 2006 – Expansion of domestic and commercial structural engineering services
GDS added wastewater disposal design as a service to clients residing on islands, rural areas and subdivisions. GDS also began providing structural engineering services to domestic residential and light commercial projects, quality new architectural residences, townhouse developments, resorts, petrol stations and holiday resorts.
2012 – Provided geotechnical engineering services for Bechtel – Daunia Coal Mine Redevelopment
Founder and director Carl Conran further extended GDS’s repertoire by providing Senior Geotechnical Engineering services to the mining industry with Bechtel at Daunia Coal Mine redevelopment, Moranbah, North Queensland.
2014 to Present Day, the formation of GDS Consulting Engineers, providing geotechnical and structural engineering services for the domestic construction industry, home owners, builders, architects, and certifiers
